In the story of Miss Rumphius by Barbara Cooney (1982), the title character spreads lupine seeds in her community to make the world a more beautiful place. The lupine flower represents resilience and the enduring power of care passed from one generation to the next. After Miss Rumphius' death, the children she inspired continue her work.

In a similar way, The Lupine Initiative seeks to spread mental health information through facilitating training sessions and workshops, and creating online resources. Our aim is to inspire a movement towards greater awareness and accessibility for mental health resources within schools, as well as streamlining intervention strategies that will assist students with unmet concerns to get the help they need.
